What is your favorite part about running your business?
“I have been freelance editing reels for friends for a long time and I'm really interested in the newest of video editing technology. I decided to start Sweet Cut to legitimize my freelance work into one place and reach people outside of my direct friend group.”
How has the pandemic effected your business?
“The pandemic actually inspired me to start my business: with theatre being down and auditions being all reliant on self tapes, I figured now was as good a time as any to be a video editor who aligns with the actors' needs. So many editors don't know our industry or understand the needs in a self tape or reel environment, or they overcharge us to fees an unemployed actor can't afford. It costs me $20 a month for my editing program, and I have no other business costs since I do it all at home, so why should I over charge? Higher quality for less money gets the respect of potential clients!”
What is your favorite part about running your business?
“I love the chance to highlight the best of someone. It makes me so proud to see the finished product represent an actor in their best light and to support another actor in booking the jobs of their dreams!”
