Meet Lindsay Lavin!
Chatting with Lindsay totally left me feeling inspired. As a person who uses a makeup artist for headshots and other projects, I often find myself nervous about how the finished look will come out because we are just meeting for the first time on the day of the shoot. BUT Lindsay's collaborative and friendly approach would make me feel SO comfortable in her makeup chair! Lindsay will be available for bookings in the Fall!
What do you love most about being a makeup artist?
"There are so many things I love about being a makeup artist! I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and connecting with them while we work together to bring their vision to life. I absolutely love working on photo shoots and contributing to someone's "big day" — whether it's a show, event, new headshots, or celebration — and making them feel beautiful and confident."

Where do you find the inspiration for your different looks?
"I am most inspired by my clients- their beauty and spark; what makes them unique. It's important to me to listen carefully and understand what makes them feel comfortable and like their "best self". I also love to draw inspiration from some of the "greats" like @tenipanosian, @angiemikaelian, and @patrickta."

What advice would you give to someone who wants to join the makeup industry?
"The best advice that I would give to someone who wants to join the makeup industry is to pay attention and listen to your clients. I can't stress it enough. While I always offer my opinion and ideas, I find it so important to leave your ego at the door and make sure your clients feel comfortable and relaxed. It's about them not me. This attitude keeps every session client-focused, collaborative, and fun!"

What is your favorite thing in your makeup bag?
My current favorite thing in my makeup bag is my RMS Living Luminizer highlighter. It is all-natural and the perfect finishing touch to complete any look, from beachy casual to red carpet glam!
What is your favorite even to do artistry for?
My favorite event to do someone's makeup for is a concert or show. As a performer myself, I love being able to take one stressful thing off someone's plate while they are thinking about a million other details. It's the perfect time for them to sit, relax, take a deep breath and focus so they can go on stage feeling calm and ready!
What do you never leave home without?
Something I never leave home without is super season-specific! If it's cold outside, I cannot leave my house without a scarf around my neck. I feel naked without one and I think it really pulls together any outfit!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is definitely my mom. She is the most hardworking, giving and selfless person I know. She is always doing things for other people and making sure everyone around her is happy. I strive to be like her everyday :)
