Where did your love for theater/ performing come from?
Growing up I always loved novelas and always wanted to be on one. I had no idea what musical theatre was because I didn't have access to it growing up and I was never even exposed to it, but one day I saw a snipet of a show during some type of commercial i think and I fell in love and knew that was the thing I was looking for. It just sparked that thing inside me that I was longing for. I had been exposed to music and theatre but it was that perfect blend of the two which made perfect sense to me once I saw it and I just remember thinking "This EXISTS???!!! This is what I've been looking for all my life !!!" I didn't do anything with theatre until my sophmore year of college when I decided to go after what I wanted to do instead of what the world was telling me I should do. I majored in Musical theatre and haven't looked back since!

What is your dream role and why!?
NINA from "InThe Heights" Also Vanessa . When you come from a latino background and grew up in latin culture it feels so special to see shows that represent that in an accurate way. The love and community in our culture, the struggle, the sassy and realness, the jokes, the pressure of being 1st gen, the relationships, the language, honestly so much that the show embodies which is the reason why it's so special to me. I relate to both Nina and Vanessa in different stages of my life and eventually I would love to play all of the female characters in that show!

How have you been staying in touch with your craft during Quarantine?
The world of the internet has been amazing and really the number one thing keeping all of us connected to our industry. I've taken tons of workshops, private coaching, intensives, masterclasses and am even doing a virtual play over zoom! It's definitely not the same as in person but the training and connection has been so inspiring and kept me motivated during this time. I've also been watching tons of Youtube videos on the industry in both tv/film & Musical theatre. I'm soaking in everything I can and have been growing my network by meeting other artists through i.g q&a sessions I started hosting weekly ever since this whole lockdown started (well half way but you get the jist)! Another way I stay connected is to work on local projects going on & during covid I actually booked a Chuck E. Cheese commercial so that was something that was a nice surprise. I tune into Backstage nearly everyday and do research on our industry as much as possible!
