WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL UNSTOPPABLE AS AN ARTIST?
"It has to be my ability to create and control my art. Early in my career I looked externally for validation. While yes, to be a professional entertainer you must book work consistently… the fact is most of the factors that get you booked on any particular contract are completely out of your control. The problem was that I put too much stock in others to boost my confidence, make me feel successful, and validate my creativity.
Now, I own what I can control and leave it there. I don’t burden myself with things that are out of my hands. I do the work, be myself, and that’s it. This allows me to feel and be unstoppable because I am in control of my journey."
WHY DID YOU START YOUR PODCAST AND WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO REACH/ WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU WANT TO SPREAD?
"I started You Booked It as a result of my personal experience and journey through my career. When I graduated from The Boston Conservatory I left with a fantastic skillset, but zero clue how to actually make my talents work for me and create a career out of them. Turns out, I was not alone.
You Booked It is all about discovering the fundamentals and niche golden nuggets that create a successful entertainment career. Every episode is essentially a masterclass. I ask the same questions to every guest, so listeners can easily take away actionable lessons and insights from every episode and apply them to their own careers immediately!
I also interview people from every part of the industry because at the end of the day, most of us will work in various parts of the industry, and in different markets throughout our careers. I have guests from Broadway to LA, the West End to Hong Kong, Australia to Singapore. From stage to screen, from those in the spotlights to those behind the scenes.
The podcast is there as a resource for every part of your entertainment career. It’s perfect for those just starting out… aspiring to be a professional, to those in the heart of their careers looking to take it to the next level, and to those that are looking to transition to another part of the industry and how to successfully do it.
After hundreds of interviews with top entertainment professionals it has become clear that professional industry relationships are the #1 fundamental resource to creating a successful entertainment career. That is why I’m very excited to announce in the next few weeks I’ll be launching the You Booked It Community… which is really an extension of the podcast.
The podcast is a brilliant educational resource, but it is also passive. You simply listen to it. The You Booked It Community is turning things up a notch. It is the only platform in the World that will encompass the entire entertainment industry! It is a place to find your people, build industry relationships, and actively learn how to successfully navigate this industry with others doing the same. I’m even bringing in masterclass teachers on a regular basis to further help you take your career to the next level! Stay tuned."

We are both drawn to the power of laughter. Social media can be filled with very important and serious conversations, which is extremely necessary especially while experiencing the events of 2020 - but there has to be a balance of light and laughter to heal the wounds. That's where we come in - we provide laughter and space for all to join us. My Broadway Memory is meant to keep Broadway alive - and that's exactly what we do.
Why did you start your podcast and who are you trying to reach / what message do you want to spread?
My Broadway Memory was started because at the top of Quarantine - Michael put himself on camera and went through old personal Playbills, telling stories of those theatre experiences. Brian Sedita, a fellow podcaster on Broadway Podcast Network saw these videos and thought it would be a great show. Together, they created My Broadway Memory on Broadway Podcast Network - an on camera talk show with guests from the Broadway community sharing their memories as well. In the second season, Michael's boyfriend Remy Germinario joined as co-host. We're reaching anyone associated with Broadway - whether you're a three time Tony winner or you only just saw your first Broadway show. While the industry is dark, it's still worth celebrating as Broadway is the single cause of joy for so many people around the world. We owe it to our community to keep the stories going - all while creating new ones in this moment of virtual theatre. Broadway is an internationally admired experience - but so many people don't know that Broadway is more a community than a performance on a stage. Not only do we have celebrity guests sharing their Broadway memories, but we have performances, comedy segments (Christina Bianco plays different Divas giving us the weather!), a segment called Your Broadway Memory where fans of the show can send in videos of their favorite memories, and a moment called "Good News" where nonprofits and organizations focused on the arts can come on and chat about how we can get involved and help others. My Broadway Memory ties in levity all while acknowledging the need to help others in the communities around you.
